Who are we?
Mkuu Cultural Tourism is a youth and women-led enterprise that aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the village and to make sure the traditions keep on living. Mkuu Cultural Tourism offers a true and genuine cultural adventure experience and a unique insight into the daily life of the Chagga people.

Mkuu Cultural Tourism intended to preserve cultural and natural heritage resources while satisfying tourists with an unforgettable and unique experience of the local Chagga’s lifestyle and taboos. The program also aims to unlock pro-poor tourism of the area to benefiting the host community.
The Mkuu Cultural Tourism Enterprises is recognized and registered by the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) which is the public governance for all cultural tourism programs in Tanzania. Thus our program follows and adheres to all principles and guidelines set by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism for Cultural Tourism Programmes.

Sustainable tourism is one of the key principles of the Cultural Tourism Programme. With this respect Mkuu Cultural Tourism practice nothing but tourism which respects and protects the environment, local culture and provides positive experiences for both visitors and hosts. With this kind of tourism Mkuu Cultural Tourism provide direct financial benefits for both cultural preservation and empowerment for local people.
